Marylou Garcia
Co-Founder
Marylou Garcia possesses an MBA in Finance from the Wharton Business School. She has held various senior positions in Finance, including Chief Financial Officer of a technology development firm, Corporate Director of Finance, Regional Financial Controller & Controller positions with various upscale hotel chains across the country and in Asia. She has 19 years of senior financial management experience with public and private firms, corporate and entrepreneurial firms, and has worked extensively within the US, the Caribbean, North and South Americas and Asia. Her international experience has allowed her to work with various cultures and gain an in depth understanding of the cultural diversities around the globe.
Marylou Garcia has managed companies with Revenues ranging from $18-$320M. She has been a key member of various Executive Committees, and has implemented strategies that increased the companies’ revenues and bottom line results. She has used her overall business knowledge in implementing plans to assist companies in turning their businesses around, by balancing tough business decisions with human resource concerns. The breadth of her experience range from recessionary to growth years, and include start up to mature/well established companies.
Marylou Garcia has focused her efforts in assisting small and medium sized businesses, specifically in areas relating to accounting, financial/business management and marketing.
Erik Bowman
Co-Founder
Erik Bowman has been a serial-entrepreneur since the age of 10, when he began selling his mothers prized flowers, "direct-from-the-grower", to unwitting neighbors and by the age of 17 he progressed to buying used tuxedo shirts from Formal Wear rental shops, tie-dying them and selling them at a huge profit at "Swap Meets" and art festivals. Erik learned early to always practice the sage wisdom of "buy low - sell high".
Erik Bowman earned degrees in both Philosophy - emphasis in Ethics and Political Science - emphasis in Statistics, both with honors from California State University.

He accepted a position as Lab Manager for a fast growing high-tech quality assurance laboratory in Santa Monica all while continuing to run a small, but successful, software development company. He later accepted a position as Vice President of Technology at Imperial Bank (now Comerica). During this period, Erik's companies began to prosper and he became engaged with the Angel and Venture capital arenas. Founding BMGI Ventures in 2001 under an "incubation" model, he began seeking out domain experts in various fields including Construction, Healthcare, Entertainment and Electronic Commerce resulting in the initial 4 companies in the BMGI Ventures portfolio. Bowman oversees 6 portfolio companies and 3 joint ventures for BMGI Ventures as well as helping entrepreneurs and small business owners through his pet project BizDevCo.com
